So this is a rather interesting find:
Pineapple5050 shared a
Depth of Field mod for Sims 2, inspired by Skyrim's Visual Immersion Series ENB mods. According to the description, the mod makes the game look like shown on the pictures below.
*Some notes: - This mod will conflict with the censor blur removal mod, so you should take that one out if you plan on using this mod. There's already a censor removal option integrated into this mod, according to the description.
- The mod works with the Mansion and Garden SP, not sure if it'll run with earlier EPs.
- The mod overwrites the following game cheat codes: bloom, vignette, filmGrain, letterBox - so those will not work anymore once this mod is in place.
- The mod is likely to conflict with other mods that change the shading system in the game.
- Your graphics card needs to be compatible with Pixel shader 3.0. for the mod to work properly.
*Download instructions:
- There's a download link right above the preview pictures on the post. It'll take you to a page that looks like this:
Click on the little ダウンロード button, and it will take you to the download page.
*Installation instructions- There's thee files included in the download: two package files and a userStartup cheat file. The package files go into the Downloads folder, and the userStartup (if I understood the instructions correctly) should either overwrite the one from My Documents \ EA Games \ The Sims 2 \ Config, or players should edit their own userStartup.cheat files by pasting the text included in Pineapple's userStartup.cheat.
- To activate the mod from within the game, bring up the cheat menu (Ctrl + C) and type "e" into it (without quotation marks). To turn the effect off, type "e-" (without quotation marks).
*All this being said:
I have not personally tried this mod. I don't know if it works. I don't know if it does what the description says it does. If you plan on giving it a go, remember to back up your game first. Tried the mod in-game, it works just as described.
M&G is also not required for it to work, as I only have up to AL installed.
