NEWS
What? Well if you have not heard the news yet, you probably have not even touched Origins. Maybe you are one of those select few that will be uninfected. Well, sadly we cannot all be that lucky.
For those of you unaware, there is a new update through Origins that patches the Sims 3 game. That is right, you read that correctly. Patches a game they abandoned.
If you want to learn more of what this entails, please read
here.
Now, some of you might be thinking, screw this. Cannot blame you. So how do you keep the game from automatically patching? Well you need to turn off automatic updates for your launcher (which hopefully everyone knows how to do by now) and in Origins. The instructions for doing the latter can be found
here.
*Inserts Expletives* Crap, it updated. What about my mods? Well there is some good new for those using NRAAS which can be found
here. To condense and paraphrase, the only mods that will give you issues is error-trap which will toss an error message, but the game still works even with that small little issue. The other problem NRAAS file is called UntranslatedKey. I do not use this one, so no idea what it does, but this one changes something that does not play well with the update.
With all of that said, NRAAS has put out a testing fix for the Error Trap error for the updated 1.69 patch which can be found
here.
