FAQ
« on: April 12, 2008, 05:03:12 pm »

Believe it or not (George isn't at home) I do end up with alot of pms in regards to my creations.  I thought that a sticky which highlighted some of the most frequently asked questions would be helpful.  So here goes:

Are your creations FSF?

 :sign10:  Of coarse.

Can I recolor?  Can I include Meshes?

Yes.  All my objects are free to be recolored.  Well at least the ones that have that option, which to my knowledge should be all of them.

Yes.  While credit isn't necessary, a link to SimsCave would be appreciated if you are including my meshes in your recolors on another site.  I would also appreciate if you sent me a link to the recolors (whether you are including meshes or not) so I can post it here in order to direct members to your work.

Can I include your meshes in my lots?

:sign10:  Again! Of coarse you can, and no I don't expect (nor want) to be credited, though someone did ask.  I don't expect most people would even remember which objects were mine to begin with.

Can I use your textures?

Yes.  I snag most off the internet, change them up to suit my needs, but I can't really claim ownership on that can I?!

Where do you find your textures?

Sorry but it would be impossible for me to pinpoint exactly where I find all of them.  Lately it seems as if I spend just as much time digging all over the web for textures as I do working on models.  A few come from actual texture resources.  Most are found on various fabric, textile, rug or furniture sites.

The best advice I can give is to visit those sorts of sites, and keep an open mind in regard to how to use textures.  I have made bedding out of rugs, pillows from paintings or paper samples, paintings from fabrics, my "platform" blanket recolors were from sofa & curtain fabric samples, and I am planning on making some rugs out of sofa fabric samples.

Can I modify/change your meshes?

Yes BUT please contact me first.  In some cases I may be planning or have already made those changes myself.  Such as in the case of making my platform blanket for game beds.  If I haven't or am not planning to I will always allow you to do so.   I hope that sounds fair.

What happened to some of your older sets?

I am working on uploading them here.  The ones that haven't been uploaded, are because I want to make some updates/changes, some big, some small, to the sets.  Hopefully I should finish them soon, so there will be no need for this question.  In the meantime you are free to share amongst yourselves, but I just don't see the need to upload them now, only to reupload them in a few weeks after the changes have been made.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me!  Thanks - Sherry
